The Private Ceremony

A private ceremony allows you to experience kambo in a one-to-one setting, with undivided attention from me as your practitioner. Your private ceremony will last approximately three hours and include the following:

  • Pre-ceremony: Personal suitability assessment and Kambo Information and Preparation Pack PDF.

  • Private consultation: A consultation beforehand allows us to explore where you are currently in your life and healing journey, where you would like to go and how kambo could assist you in getting there. This can provide clarity surrounding what intentions you will be working with during the ceremony. You have full control over how deeply we delve during this consultation. People often find that having this discussion before working with kambo allows them to sit with the medicine with renewed strength and surrender.

  • Comprehensive overview of the kambo process: This allows you the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of kambo medicine and address any questions or concerns you may have. Together we will ensure that you feel comfortable and confident before your treatment begins.

  • Grounding meditation and creation of sacred space.

  • The kambo ceremony.

  • Optional short sananga ceremony after kambo: This is an Amazonian eye medicine which facilitates us in grounding and clearing emotions. For more information on sananga, see below.

  • A light organic vegetarian/vegan lunch.

  • Integration and aftercare advice.

What is sananga?

Sananga is a traditional Amazonian eye medicine made from the shredded root of the Undulata shrub. It is part of the Apocynaceae plant family, so along with other members of this family, contains the active ingredient Ibogaine. It has been used by many tribes throughout the Amazon for millienia for its physical and energetic benefits.

On a physical level, sananga is traditionally used to refresh the eyes and is applied prior to hunting, to enhance eyesight and sharpen visual perception. It is also used as a traditional remedy for eye diseases such as a cataracts, glaucoma and conjunctivitis.

From an energetic perspective, it is said by Amazon natives that the spirit (energy) of sananga can tap into and act on the root cause of psychosomatic disease, as well as lifting panema (negative energy, depression, bad luck, malaise) which may be attributed to this disease.

It grounds us and reconnects us to ourselves as holistic beings, allowing for the release of energetic blockages and repressed emotions. It is believed to balance our energy body and open the third eye, leading to greater inner vision. It also calms the mind and assists a deeper meditation practice.

It is often applied in ceremony before drinking ayahuasca to enhance the visual experience.

The application of sananga is intense, causing a burning and sometimes vibrating sensation in the eyes for several minutes. This instantly gets us in touch with our bodies and our breath, grounding us and causing us to surrender to the medicine and the healing taking place.
