Embodiment Pt 1

How do you allow your inner world to find expression?

Our body is the home of many mysteries.

It houses reservoirs of memory and emotion that lay disowned due to our blinkered gaze.

We have been trained from birth to live in the realm of the mind. And whilst we may benefit from our close relationship with thought, we often miss the wisdom our body is trying to gift us.

Coming home to our body is a gradual process, and a journey best taken with gentleness. As you walk through the sinews of your being, you may be met with bitter winds. An ache that you have long known may, when gifted presence, reveal a deeper ache. Perhaps beneath it, there is a void wishing to be filled, a memory wishing to be acknowledged or a trauma desiring release. Approach this as you would a lost child - with presence, compassion, curiosity and a desire to help.

There is also much wonder alive within you. A bubbling spring of creativity that craves expression. Dampened passion resting on seabed, peering up at you from your ocean of disembodiment.

These wonders slowly trickle from you, taking the shape of a gold key within your hand. They only wish that you would follow the map of your veins and entrails to find the chest they are buried within. They long for you to turn that key and release their full potential.

What in your inner world is calling for your attention? What within you is desiring outward expression?

Oftentimes, it takes but a few moments of silence and willingness to begin hearing its faint whisper. Allow that to be your starting point.

To explore this wisdom more, you may consider allowing deep, slow breaths to bring you into a state of presence with your body.

Some exploration inspiration to explore energies in the body:

  • Where would you find it?

  • What does it feel/look/sound/smell/taste like?

  • How would you greet it?

  • What does it have to say and/or show you?

  • Would this like to be expressed now? And if so, how?

If you are getting to know one particular aspect of yourself, allow space for the answers to these questions to change, as this energy naturally evolves.
