Nature is alive with guidance if we choose to seek it.

There are messages held within the natural world that are waiting for us to soften our gaze so that they may reveal their meaning.

Often it is as simple as stepping out into nature with intention, offering this intention to your surroundings and seeing where your senses take you.

As you explore your nature place, you may find your attention drawn to a particular object or scene.

Does this evoke an emotion?

Does this inspire you in any way?

If this tree, this bird, this horizon could speak to you, what would it say?

How does what is in front of you feel in your body?

Does any of this speak to your intention?

The wisdom gifted to us becomes clearer when we quieten our inner critic. And this wisdom is often simpler, yet no less potent, than our adult mind would like to believe.

Give your imagination permission to play, to hear nature’s voice as you did when you were a child.

From this place we can access the ancient wisdom of the earth, and the steady knowing of our soul.

Faced with a significant decision to make some weeks ago, I took my worries to the water. As my mind pondered back and forth, I stopped at the water’s edge with the thought “Maybe I should just go for it”. My attention was suddenly drawn down to this stone, which lay between my feet. To me the message was simple yet profound. It said, “follow your heart”. This message followed me to my new home in Galway.

We are never too old to confide in nature. She is always listening.
